TOEIC
When the Educational Testing Service ventured into the world of business
English assessment tools, it asked Telequest to design a marketing
program that would sell its Test of English for International Communications,
or TOEIC, to corporate executives around the world. The challenge
was that many of the executives ETS wanted to reach spoke little or
no English.
Telequest's production takes the viewer on a three-continent
tour of businesses that use TOEIC: a major electronics corporation
in Japan, a five-star hotel in Bangkok, a pharmaceutical company
in Zurich, and an AT&T manufacturing plant in Mexico. The program
was translated into six languages.
Since the video was produced in 1994, TOEIC use has increased dramatically.
Today, the video is still relevant - and still used as a key component
of the product's marketing strategy.
